Please, also be aware that art. 201 of the new Traffic Act (modified by art. 36 - law n. 120 of 29/07/2010) has reduced the notification period from 150 to 90 days, where immediate contestation of the violation was not possible, effective as of the date on which identification is possible by means of public registry or by national vehicle registry or as of the date on which the Authority is able to provide rental/driver details. This period could be extended up to 360 days in cases where the driver/renter is from abroad. Regarding the non-payment of tolls and parking, the terms of notification are applied from the current regulation.
It is important to remember that only when you receive the Traffic Fine in your name, will you be able to verify all the details and then proceed with payment in the manner and time indicated in the Traffic fine. Clearly, It is your right to appeal to the competent Authority, within the terms and manner provided by the Law/p>
